Recalls are a well-established global practice; from time to time they are announced by almost all manufacturers of not only cars, but also any other industrial products. But since a car is considered a source of increased danger, it is recalls in the automotive industry that attract the most attention and cause the greatest resonance. Check if your car is covered by a recall campaign. Sometimes manufacturers will recall their cars because of substandard parts or workmanship and repair them for free, regardless of the warranty. This is called a recall campaign. More information on 1964 Pontiac GTO recalls can be found in this database. It may be useful to use online problems resource that shows automotive defect patterns, based on complaint data submitted by vehicle owners. The problems are organized into groups with data published by vehicle, component, and specific issue. See also an updated list of 1964 Pontiac GTO problems before buying a used car. In most cases, the recall is initiated by the manufacturer. But it also happens that it is forced to do so. The largest and most scandalous recall campaigns were those that were initiated by complaints and lawsuits from consumers through controlling state structures.

Major Options / Build:
Additional Description: There were 6,644 GTO convertibles built in 1964. Low numbers for any GM car at the time. This car with the combination of the 389 tri carb engine, 4 speed manual, dash tach, center console, vacuum gauge, etc, make it quite unique. There were probably less than 1,000 GTO convertibles built with that combination of options. With normal attrition of 56 year old cars the number is probably less than 500 that currently exist. Combine that with less than 40,000 original miles on this car and you probably have a car that is one of less than 100 examples that currently exist. In addition, I we have the original MSRP sticker, the original production broadcast sheet, the original protecto plate, the original owners manual, and an original 1964 Pontiac accessory book. This documentation is rare separately, it is very unusual to have all of them together.
